The popularity of the sporty runway has grown steadily here in the North East and the United States. While ultra-persistent events are still quite underground, shorter trails and loads of trails run from left to right.

Technical vs. Non-Technical Track
The first thing a trainer wants to know about a new track is whether it's technical or not technical.
Non-technical tracks are basically soft paths. They are well maintained, generally broad enough to accommodate 2 or more people, and there are not many obstacles on the way they run. The best non-technical pitches in the South Maine area are located in New England, Gloucester Pineland Farms, which boasts 15 miles of trail, and every spring is the Pineland Farms Festival, which includes fields such as barefoot 5k and canicross 5k on Saturday and 25k, 50k and 50 miles on Sunday.
Techniques are usually single-tracked, which means that only one person can advance on the track. There will be many obstacles, including, but not limited to, rocks, roots and rivers. You need to keep the emphasis in order to safely run along the technical track. The Pownal Bradbury Mountain State Park trails are a good example of technical trails and are easily accessible from Portland. They are also the venues of the Bradbury Mountain Trail Racing series during the summer
Single-track trails are generally, but not always technically enough, but not wide enough for people to be one, so they have to stay in a group.
Two-track trails are wider than single-lane and at least two people running side by side can fit in if they are not 3 or 4. Two-track trails can navigate more easily and by nature they may be of a technical nature.
